Mailing Letters Internationally

How would one go about mailing a letter to say, some in Germany? I Googled the topic and attempted to format my own label to Germany:

Herrn Hans Dieter
Mittlerer Pfad 26
70499 Stuttgart
GERMANY

Now, assuming I got that right, how would I place a return address? That same way I do for US mail or something different?

How much would it cost to send a letter from Philly to Stuttgart, Germany? How long would it take to arrive?

I'm not actually going to mail anything, I was just curious on how this worked.

Your format is correct, and your return address is same as if you mailed in the US except you add USA at the end.

As far as cost, it depends on the weight of envelope, etc. USPS will have to tell ya. There is a standard rate everywhere actually.
