Mail Server Setup.

I am looking to setup a personnel mail server. I would perfer Win2000 but would consider NT4 or Unix. Does anybody have and cheap or free software suggestions?

There's no free or even cheap mail server that runs under any kind of Windows. The cheapest I have seen costs about US$250.

http://www.argosoft.com/applications/mailserver/ I've heard decent things about this one and it has a freeware version. but if all possible go unix and qmail, you wont be dissapointed

I use MerakMail... it's fairly easy to configure and is *very* fast. (Compared it to Exchange and MDaemon). Not badly priced either. Check out MerakMail

I think Winroute may have "built-in," among other things, a simple mail server. It's been a long time since I've used the program though. That kind of stuff belongs on *nix anyway.
