I watched this on cable for the first time yesterday. I first I thought it was a real documentary about mail order brides. It kinda sucked me in at first. Directed by Huck Botko and Andrew Gurland. I still sorta think it was half real... LOL

A documentarian funds a NYC doorman's Asian mail order bride in exchange for the right to film the experience.

The doorman finally gets the young china girl who speaks no english. He forces her to feed his albino pet python. She starts crying and he writes on a sticky note and puts it on a door saying stop crying! What a moron! Then at some point of the documentary with film crew in tow.. he takes her to a obstetrician who has an interpreter for her (he didn't know this), and they explain the procedure of having her tubes tied and she freaks out, and says in her native tounge "I thought this was just a routine doctor visit?" She runs to the bathroom crying... and the husband is telling the camera crew to turn off the cameras, all the while the director is saying "why are you trying to force the procedure on her?"...LOL

The whole time the documentary looked so real up until the very end when it got Korny, and the director Andrew, ends up saving her from the abusive husband who was supposedly sexually abusing her and making video tapes of her. They can't obtain citizenship for her, so he ends hiring an attorney for the divorce for her, and then proposes marriage to her!

The whole film just gets better right up until the very end, when she turns out to be a nut!

It was a very entertaining "Mokumentary" though.

Just thought I'd share. :D

i agree...throughout the movie i wasn't sure if it was real...or fake, until the end when it got waaaaay to ridiculous to be real. the dude, the guy who ordered the wife is in a few local tv commercials here in nyc as well.
