mail might be in customs? easy to fix?

I mailed my gf from Korea some letters and stickers about 1 week ago. I mailed them via global flat rate whatever, and it was suppose to be there in 6 or 7 days. since she hasn't recieved it, I called the post office, and they said that customs might have it, and they suggested my gf to call customs.

so whenever something gets stuck customs, is it usually a problem? Is it easy for her to get it?
