Mail-in Rebates

I have never failed to get a rebate back. I have gotten hundreds of dollars back in rebates. I hate using them now because it is so time consuming to deal with them.

I've recieved all of my rebates, but only one I would call a pleasant experience. (two weeks total from Staples). So in general, if a deal's not good before the rebate, I won't consider it. $100 for a 1GB DIMM before a $50 rebate=okay, $150 for a 1GB DIMM before a $100 rebate=lose

Worst one:
Seagate rebate. Took 7 months, they lied to the BBB, rejected my rebate 3 times, took 2 faxes and 4 phone calls.

Runner up:
Umax rebate. Took so long that by the time I got the rebate I didn't have the scanner anymore.

Edit:
And taking FAR longer than the quoted time seems to be the norm, I had one that had a "submission date" some 6 weeks after I mailed it out, and then it took them another 12 to send out the check. All the time, they said "It will take 6-8 weeks.". That was thier response to me saying "WTF? It's been 10!"

The big rebates are the scariest ones to send because the "deal" that you got won't be worth it if you don't get the rebate back. I've been lucky in that I have recieved all my rebates except a couple small ones.

The best deals are the ones were the rebates are bigger then the price you bought the thing for, nothing like getting something for free plus some CASH.

Gotten all my rebates so far 🙂.

I've emailed them three times so far for $85 worth of rebates they accepted back in July. :|

I really hate all the MIR elitests out there, who think MIRs are the greatest thing since sliced break. Sure *you* may have been the random person who by chance gets all their rebates back - but guess what, on the other side there's those of us who wish we could claim we've broken the halfway point of returned rebates.

I just have too much other things to worry about than to keep track of piles of documents & making numerous phone calls, just to get a measly $10 out of a company.

>95% success.

Just received check from BJs Warehouse--I didn't even have to mail anything! Went to website and entered some receipt info--check arrived one month later!
