Mail.app auto lauches??

I put my system to sleep every night, and recently, mail has been opened as soon as I log in. Anyone have any idea why that is?
 
Right click on the Mail.app icon in your dock, is 'Open at login' checked?

You can also view a list of all the apps set to open when you login by going in System Preferences, Accounts, then select the Login Items tab.
 
it's not in the login list, which is the first thing i checked. and this isn't a fresh login, i'm already logged in, I just have password protection on from wake/screen saver/etc
