TO trust another persons words. To believe the stated claims without hesitation, to understand the subject position from which he comes?that is the reality of God and not of me. So, I dwindle down to the bare facts that I can see and then decide whether truth is in my vision. Truth oftentimes is irrelevant because it serves as a mask for the true motive of human living, and that is to serve humanity.
Humanity?mankind?.is one component in a system which exists inside many components. The component that I call mankind includes many subsets of the greater component, each serving a different purpose. I cannot judge whether the purpose is to further the power of the component, or of the system as a whole. Perhaps there are parts of humanity designed to keep it in check. Perhaps the purpose mankind is to keep the universe in check, and to ultimately destroy. I do not know.
What I do know is that we exist inside of a system. And in this system I am fooled into believing I have liberty of thought and mind. However, when all is said and done, am I so entrenched into the mechanics of the system that my free will is nothing more than a group of smaller components following a specific set of rules?
Because I believe in the system, I wholeheartedly accept the belief in free will. If Nature chooses to give me this belief, then I will not fight it.
