so let's say I have a rectangular loop with current flowing. there is a horizontal wire, which is parallel to this rectangular loop. both wires have 2.5 Amps of current flowing through it(to the right). the distance between the top part of the rectangle and the horizontal wires are 3 cm apart.

-----------2.5A-->------

-----------2.5A->-------

-----------10cm--------

ok, so basically, I need to find the magnitude and direction of the net force on the loop.

I can find the magnetic field, and the force. using soem equations.

from my knowledge, the 2 vertical loops cancel eachother out, so I need no worry about them.

so
Force of the top wire on rectangle is 6.25e-6 and the field is 1.6e-6
Force of the bottom wire on rect is 1.54e-5 and the field is 6.16e-5

Now, so I have the numbers, and the direction of the current(both going right). How do I figure out the direction of the total force??

I think it has somethign to do wiht the right hand rule, but I"m not too clear on how to use it...
