Magnetic stuff near DELL LCD, is it ok ???

I have just a generic speaker that I put next to my dell LCD. Then just now I remember that you should not put your monitor near any magnetic device. Is this true ???

good question, I have my speakers next to a DELL LCD too.... but hasnt caused a problem in 6 months yet...

it isnt like a CRT...it isnt going to hurt it

crt's use a charge gun to shoot electrons at the screen. having a magnet near a CRT pulls the electrons away from where they are supposed to be. LCDs dont work in nearly the same way. you should be fine.
