Need to replace a couple on my POS terminals. I think what's there is 2-track. What's on each track and should I consider 3-track?
 
Track 1 and 2 are used on regular cards. Track 3 is used to carry a balance on the card. It's the only part that POS terminals are supposed to be able to write to. I personally have never seen a card that used track 3, but they do exist. I doubt you need a 3 track reader.

Track 1 = IATA
Track 2 = ABA
Track 3 = R/W area
