If anyone's been at Home Depot lately they may have noticed that they recently bought a LOT of the Magnavox MRD500VR Home Theater/DVD/VCR system. Well, they finally realized that the things weren't selling at the regular price of $299, so they've marked them down to $160 (or at least the Puget Sound stores have) to close them out.

Granted, it's not gonna blow anyone away if you compare the audio quality to a cheap Kenwood or Onkyo home theater in a box system, but it might be nice for someone who wants a cheap home theater for the bedroom or their kid's room.

yeah, the onkyo s660 was at frys for 250. sound wise the onkyo is much better but it doesnt come with the dvd/vcr.

i would think this one would be much better for a super low budget system.

Edited original post to reflect that HD just dropped the price down to $160. Just in time for Father's Day.

They are a clearance item and are dropping the price every week. If any are left at $120.00, I'll get a set.
