magic number?

i was just watching the local news and during the sports segment, they said sf ginats magic number is 10 after tonight's game...what is the magic number? the giants are up 8.5 over the d'backs in the NL West race...can anyone tell me?...TIA

The magic number is how many wins the Giants need to clinch their division. It goes down 1 for every Giant win and it also goes down 1 for every Arizona loss.
