Things that happen when you politically alienate a large part of your customer base.

Condo prices in his buildings are lagging the market as well and show higher inventory. The people that are buying are largely using LLCs to hide who they are...

Who'd want to live with the extreme level of security in Trump tower? The art dealer who died in his burning apartment reportedly wanted to move but couldn't find a buyer...

Yawn. Another desperate Trump-hater grasping at straws.

Golf income is down across the board. Country club memberships are down, public course play is down, equipment sales are down, courses are closing everywhere. It has nothing to do with the Cheeto-in-Chief.

Except for his wonderful business decision to buy into a slumping business model. He may already have experience in this, something about casinos I think.

It wasn't a slumping business model. The golf business was in a huge boom not very long ago, that's the problem. It overbuiilt EVERYWHERE in the world. Now it's shrinking EVERYWHERE. If you want to hate Trump find an actual reason, there are plenty. If you scream that the downturn in golf is in any way connected to Trump all you do is make yourself look like an idiot. They're completely unrelated.

If you have evidence that shows the rate of general decline is the same as the decline at Trump owned courses you have a point. Do you have such evidence or is this based on your feels?

Well there is more than one tower. The problem really applies to all his condo properties.

Also in the world of high end luxury condo properties all his buildings are now substantially behind current standards.

Yep. My Dad worked for a municipal park district and they used to have 5 public courses in the city he worked. They condensed down to 1. And even that one isn't doing great.

It’s just funny, I keep thinking of the Fuck Your Feelings couple and relying on them to come up with a 100k club membership.

Same story in a lot of towns that I'm not sure entirely applies to the specific properties he owns which exist in places that heavily don't favor his adopted brand of politics. 20-30% revenue declines from 2016 to 2017 is...a lot.

Oh for sure I'm certain there is a tangible "Trump Slump" at many of his properties. I am part of a Hilton travel club and they can barely give away his Vegas properties. When I go to book it's the one property that is always available to rent. People are actively avoiding it. He's also lost, is it three?, licensing deals. Panama, Toronto and SoHo. All three saw his name as an anchor.

The fine dining restaurant at his hotel here had to fold for lack of business and the rates generally trail other comparable properties. Part of that is him and part of it is increased competition in the segment. Lots of nicer/newer options for the same or less money if you're Trump averse. Condo portion of the building can't move units without the current owners being willing to take a bath.

Cut the guy some slack, even though he doesn't cut any slack, so maybe I'm wrong here.
It has to be tough having Trump represent your interests. Perpetual lying, so many that even his supports agree he is a liar. Perpetual blaming others for why he can't get stuff done or why the world is against him (Trump).
Guys like him hate Hollywood and they elected a TV personality that has a FUCKING AGENT....in FUCKING HOLLYWOOD!
Seriously it has to be difficult to accept the clownery.

It's worth noting that the article has been updated because the comparison was done based on 2 financial disclosures, but the earlier disclosure was for 15.5 months as opposed to the newer one being only 12 months, so revenue is down, but only 2% lower not 24%.

Edit: Actually slightly over 1% not 2%.

The profits don't really matter. Losses are tax deductible. Each property is just a parking place for laundered money. The losses are just the cost of the laundry. There's so much illicit cash that they're still coming out ahead.
