Im trying to play the Mafia II demo but Steam wants me to install their fix/service for bad coding. Im going to download from another source, that client fix is bullshit. Why cant Valve do this correctly?
Steam has been working as expected (buggy as hell for non-valve games--GTAIV, DA:O-- solid for valve games--HL2, Portal). They have issued a patch/workaround for win7 x64 that im not comfortable with and every time i launch Steam i get the prompt to "install steam service" but i reject and it works just fine. Until now. I know this is some DRM bullshit. Oh well, guess i wont be playing this demo or buying the full game, i have no tolerance for DRM problems. Even the downloaded DEMO wants Steam? Nope, im not going deal with this.
