I will post some benches later. Is BloatX enabled in the demo ?

If so, I'll do some with it running on a dedicated GPU and some without.

The demo is on Steam, so grab it if you already have Steam.

And yeh, PhysX is also enabled. Even though I have no compatible hardware I tested it to see what the IQ is. All I saw in the demo with PhysX was just some extra debris. The game looks good even on all low settings.

AMD 5000+ 3.1 GHz, Radeon HD3850

1280x1204, all low no physx

MIN 6.7 fps
MAX 90.9 fps
AVG 40.4 fps

1280x1024 all settings maxed no physx:

MIN 7.6 fps
MAX 62.5 fps
AVG 21.6 fps

The minimum number is completely worthless in the benchmark tool. However the average is right in line with my experience in actual gameplay of the demo. AA kills my performance the most. Without AA I can turn the other settings up. Also ambient occlusion seems to be the second most setting to hit my setup. I turn it off and my framerate increases. I don't even notice a difference, to be honest. I even tried comparing screen shots and don't see a difference. Will test some more in other areas, though.

Ambient occlusion makes a difference here- that is the real performance concern. My 295 is barely eking by @ 2560x1440 on my Q9550 @ 3.4GHz with most of the features on. You can really see the performance hit during the realtime cutscenes. I really hope we get that dual GPU GF104 soon.

here is what fraps shows me when I record 60 sec @1600x1200. My minimums are not bad. I don't know where its getting 6 fps minimum? Mabe in the very, very beginning?
FPS
61 59 59 65 65 65 65 67 44 61 58 60 58 52 53 50 59 60 57 58 55 43 47 52 57 56 45 52 48 52 54 53 50 52 60 61 65 73 75 59 56 63 58 59 46 49 50 49 50 52 53 53 54 51 54 54
56 55 44 41

The fire scenes kill my fps.

Is there a demo version that doesn't come with the Steam client?

are the minimum frame rates evidence of bad coding or ?

I think it's just some flaw in the benchmark, recording framerate as scene switches (memory/hard drive swap?)

During gameplay and even when watching the bench run the framerate never even gets close to single digits. Ha, I even turned on PhysX and it didn't go to single digits. Just stayed at a constant 14.

The game is Steam tied, so there won't/can't be a non-Steam version (pirate copies excepting).

Steamworks game, hence Steam. Even if you buy a retail copy you'll still have to activate it via Steam.

I just ran it and received a B rating...

1920x1200 High with AA on, no Phyx

i7-860 stock and a single 5870 (today I should be fixing that back to what it belongs when I finish my new case and throw everything underwater)

high: 160
min: 7.2
average: 75

so, that is a B? I think it has a lot to do with that false minimum frame. I watched FRAPS and not the demo the entire time and did not see a single downward spike. I think my true low was around 58. Has to be a flaw in the benchmark somewhere.

Oh and after exited the game it messed up my brightness or something. It was really strange. I didn't have time to mess with it, as I was only home for lunch, but it was still not normal.

Yes, there is huge drop in frame rates while going from one scene to the next.
