I installed it tonight with MPCHC following the guide on AVS forums for setting up MPC.

Is it just me or is it really better or a placebo over stock renderer?

I feel like its better for sure. Anyone else use it?

It is better (remember seeing a comparison, but can't seem to find the link, sorry), but I find the stock renderer is good enough without the hassle of tinkering with settings.

I find it better too, especially with SD videos (madvr has better scaling algorithms, apparently), but at the same time it is more resource intensive (which shouldn't be an issue for your HTPC).

Yeah. My HTPC has no issues with it at all. But then again...its not a typical HTPC.

I'm leaving it installed.

I'm a big fan of madvr, better IQ with both SD and HD content plus it has a handy refresh rate switcher. Use with the lav decoder for best results.

I like it because of its versatility. I use MPC/Madvr on my HTPC. I have an i1 Display Pro, and was able to create 3D LUT's using Upsilonmixer that Madvr can use to correct the picture even further than calibrating the actual TV.
