made new Show Deskop button

Made a text file, copied and pasted the appropriate command, added it to the right folder (C:\Documents and Settings\Chris\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch), changed the extension (scf). The computer reads it as a Windows Explorer Command, but when I click it it asks me what program to open it with...

argh, how do i make it work (besides just using windows key+d)

edit: Sorry didn't read the OP . By default in Win XP there's a Show Desktop button in the Quick Launch. What you can do is enable the Quick Launch and copy the Show Desktop button...put it wherever you please. Hope this helps

mm i think i wasnt clear enough.
I originally erased the Show Desktop from quick launch by accident and when i made a new one (http://www.uvsc.edu/helpdesk/faq/windows/showdesktopicon.html and other sites) i got the problem i posted above.

any other ideas?
