made by ati 9600 pro - after market cooler?

I have a ati retail 9600 pro, I want to overclock it but...

I opened up the box and lo and behold the puny cooler.

How far have you guys been able to oc on stock cooling?

I was looking at the Zalman heatpipe and the silly huge fan, and the Giant II, but do they fit on it?

Any help would be appreciated. :beer:

You might be surprised by how far it can go with the cheesy HSF. It's ATI's first 130nm desktop part and doesn't put out as much heat. Just take it up 10MHz at a time until you hit a roadblock, then back it down 5MHz and go from there. Look for artifacting because it can be stable with artifacting. Then you could go for some aftermarket cooling and see how far she'll go then. Good luck.

I agree see how far the stock setup will go, the 9600 pro generates much less heat that a 9500, 9700 or 9800 card. If you do have issues then the first thing I would do is add some ram heatsinks, they are cheap (1.75 each x 8) at
