The PCG-Z505R is a nice notebook although slow (PII 266) and with now considered a tiny 6.4GB HD. I appreciate this laptop because it is so light and has such bright screen that I would love to keep it provided I can upgrade the HD that is fast running out of space. Believe or not, I could not get any help from SONY (even calling them is a waste of time). I could not even get what are the specs of my HD including size and what 40GB 5400rpm upgrade I could get. I am coming this forum with the hope that I can get some help and figure out what I should buy as HD and how I should proceed. Thank you in advance.
 
Thank you. Yes it helps at least to understand that it is no small matter to change a drive on a laptop. I think once I am certain as to why kind of drive upgrade I could use I will give the laptop to a pro to effect the surgery. Thanks again for your consideration.
