Madden 2010 can go F-bomb itself...

I've bought Madden since '99. I used to LOVE this game. I play online some (although online franchise mode sucks compared to even NFL 2k5's franchise). I play a lot of single player franchise, like most of you do. I like to play the actual games as well as SIM seasons. I think I've reached a point though, where I will not buy Madden again next year. Rent maybe, thats about it.

First of all, WHY THE FUCK ARE THERE ADS DURING THE GAMEPLAY NOW? Seriously, what the motherfucking fuck? Presnap I see an ad for fucking KFC chicken on nearly every play. That is crossing the line. It was one thing to have snickers in the pregame. Or ads in other presentation areas. But during the actual gameplay its unacceptable. That has crossed a line, in my opinion.

Secondly, the SIM stats are completely fucked. I've been a member of operationsports for a few years and have read countless threads on tweaking this game. When I actually play, I can get it so that its pretty competitive and accurate, but I feel like I've just cured cancer after I get all the sliders right. God forbid they patch the game and fuck my sliders. The computer stats are completely FUBAR'd though. No amount of ninja tweaking is going to fix that. Five QB's with 40+ TD's. Only 1 RB with more than 10 TD's in a season, with most around 3-5 for A TEAM?!?!? Receivers like Vincent Jackson with 20 TD receptions and another 10 with more than 15? Come on, these stats are completely fucking ridiculous.

I did a fantasy draft. I drafted rounds 1-5 the best linemen I could get. Then I drafted two solid RB's then went on to WR's and QB's. My WR's were even good run blockers like Hines Ward. I only got a good QB/WR so my playaction would open up the running game. What do I get? A fucking 3.0 average at best for my running backs? ARE YOU FUCKING JOKING ME?!?! I could plug in a mix of Barry Sanders and Jerome Bettis with fucking transformers as my offensive line and I still probably won't hit 4.0 YPC.

This game is a joke. The gameplay itself is fun. I enjoy playing the game if I don't give a shit about running for 400 yards or passing for 600. If I don't care about having 6 picks in a game. If I don't care that you CAN NEVER SACK THE QB. Yes, teh game looks/feels good. But realistically, it just SUCKS.

Fuck this shit. I'm done with EA. The Ads put me over the top.

I remember reading on the OS forums how the devs got a new leader or something this year and he was gung ho about fixing all the problems and making the game way more sim. What happened? Guess they ran out of time.
Even previews said it was the ultimate Madden game. That's like the ultimate Kia, I suppose.

Does this mean you're not playing in our AT league any more? 🙂

As far as the next gen editions go, I think I might have enjoyed Madden 09 more. I just wish EA would lose their exclusive grip on the NFL so we could have some competition.

This.

The last NFL football I played was Madden 2005. What a coincidence...that is the last year that EA actually had to put in any effort. 😉

2010 is tempting, but $60 for a sports game is pure folly considering it's little more than an annual roster update. They even require you pay to download DLC to have your characters progress more during the season! :|

They really took a lot out of the franchise mode since the 2004/2005 days, actually. After playing a season or two and winning the Super Bowl, I used to really enjoy the management aspect - simming through seasons, working the salary caps, making trades for draft picks - I even liked managing ticket/concession prices to maximize attendance/profits. That stuff never got ported over to this console generation for whatever reason, and instead they focused a lot more on the online aspect.

I prefer 10 over 09. There's a lot of subtle things added to this year's game that I really appreciate and add to the game experience. I don't care about the ads.

I noticed the unrealistic stats when simming, and it sucks a bit, but I'm not incredibly bothered by it. As for your fantasy offensive line not making your running game unstoppable - that's always been an issue with Madden, really. The O-line rarely got any love. It's an AI issue more than anything. You can create a line of 7-foot, 400 lb monsters with their stats maxed, and average LBs and DTs will still get by them if you up the difficulty.

With this game, there's always the "they'll fix it next year" mentality. The game's gotten progressively better, but I don't think it will ever be perfect.

Well, in fairness, I would say 2010 is much more than the usual roster update. The gameplay itself is significantly different than 09 IMO. I like 10, but it plays differently than 09 and in many ways, I still like 09 better.

You can play without the DLC. What pisses me off more than the player-specific DLC is the fact that they didn't include the AFL legacy pack with the game in the first place. That was a ridiculous omission in my opinion.

With all of this being said, many of the usual flaws are STILL there:

1. Lack of QB sacks or pressure.
2. CPU does seem to cheat and/or get more BS than in past years.
3. I thought they were supposed to work on suction blocking this year but to be honest, it still seems to be a problem for me.
4. Robo-CBs seem to be more of a problem this year IMO.

And look at the bright side -- NFL 2K5 is on the 360's compatibility list so you can go pick up a copy at Gamestop for $1 and play it.

Madden went downhill as soon as it got the NFL exclusive license. Best Madden was 2005.

This. I played the hell outta 05 dynasty mode, I think I was somewhere around 2013 or 2015 season, even imported 4 draft classes from NCAA 05 that year.

Then I downloaded the 2010 demo and was so disappointed with the game play. Meh, I will stick with NHL 10 and FIFA 10.
