for madden 06 do you mean the one for regular xbox or xbox 360? I've notice just from looking at screen shots alone madden 06 for xbox 360 looks better than the one for pc. Some one said that the pc version is still using an older game engine.

From an objective point of view, even though I hate EA, I must say that Madden for the PC has NEVER been good. Ever. Graphics may be ok, but it's not a PC game and shouldnt be played there.

Even if you play with a gamepad, year after year it's been very sub-par. I admittedly have not played it this year, but there's a reason for that. It's like they dont put any effort into it.

it looks like they put most of there effort into the xbox 360 version, eventhough they took some of the features out of the xbox 360 version

i've played a bunch of maddens on ps2 and madden 05 on the pc. definitely they put more work into the consoles although i don't find anything particularly offensive on the pc version.

probably the most annoying is a graphical glitch when playing in a custom built stadium.

i've also never played anything but single player on the pc but thats basically why i got it anyway.

its "ok" with a game pad i just didn't understand the "shouldn't be played" comment.

that said, i didn't line up to buy 06. :p maybe as a bargain bi again like when i bought 05.

Each year EA uses the game engine from last year for the current PC version. Meaning you are playing Madden 06 on the Madden 05 engine that consoles had previously. They just add in the features.

The Xbox 360 version suffered from lack of extra features. Reason being is the DVD9 can't hold all the content plus the HD 720p resolution and everything. They are talking of many games spanning multiple DVD9s and actually having to install content to the HDD. That basically does 2 things. 1)screws ppl who did not buy the HDD version and 2) meand many companies will limit the games to fit on one disk making the possibilities more limited. Microsoft has announced that future Xbox systems will ship with HDDvd drives but will not have game content produced on the disks. This is to keep compatability with previous Xbox360 models already released. It's sad that Microsoft is investing all effort into Xbox Live and forgot things like this.

SO there you have it.

I've enjoyed Madden 06 on the PC... I've never owned any console though since the old NES (and the atari 2600 before that haha)... so I can't compare the gameplay on xbox or ps2. Maybe it's just the fact that I can actually see the Lion's win that makes me enjoy it so much ;-)
The only complaint I have is with poor AI in certain situations (maybe the poor AI is more pervasive than those situations but I only notice it in a particular few situations). I haven't tried playing it multiplayer so far though, I'm afraid of getting embarrassed haha... since I'm pretty much a newbie at the game, I've only played it so far as a single player game.

Ummmm. No, no, and no. The reason the 360 version of Madden lacks features is because EA completely redesigned the game engine from the groundup for the 360. This is going to be their baseline for the next-gen consoles. They simply did not have the time to put in everything that was in the Xbox/PS2 version of Madden. You can expect to see that in next year's releases.

This is a common trend in most all of EA sports games for the 360. Tiger Woods was missing content for the same reason...lack of development time.

Since the 360 can use DL discs, wouldn't that mean 9GIG?

I've installed full games half that size with more content/features and higher resolutions (1600x1200)

Bingo, Queasy.

Also, MS has (recently) completely denied that any HD-DVD plans are in the works.
