Each year EA uses the game engine from last year for the current PC version. Meaning you are playing Madden 06 on the Madden 05 engine that consoles had previously. They just add in the features.
The Xbox 360 version suffered from lack of extra features. Reason being is the DVD9 can't hold all the content plus the HD 720p resolution and everything. They are talking of many games spanning multiple DVD9s and actually having to install content to the HDD. That basically does 2 things. 1)screws ppl who did not buy the HDD version and 2) meand many companies will limit the games to fit on one disk making the possibilities more limited. Microsoft has announced that future Xbox systems will ship with HDDvd drives but will not have game content produced on the disks. This is to keep compatability with previous Xbox360 models already released. It's sad that Microsoft is investing all effort into Xbox Live and forgot things like this.
SO there you have it.

Ummmm. No, no, and no. The reason the 360 version of Madden lacks features is because EA completely redesigned the game engine from the groundup for the 360. This is going to be their baseline for the next-gen consoles. They simply did not have the time to put in everything that was in the Xbox/PS2 version of Madden. You can expect to see that in next year's releases.Originally posted by: cmdrdredd

This is a common trend in most all of EA sports games for the 360. Tiger Woods was missing content for the same reason...lack of development time.
