Madden '04 introduces feature that won't work on Ti cards

So EA released a patch for the PC that allows dirty uniforms for the players. Except the only Nvidia cards that can pull it off are the FX series, whereas anything from a Radeon 8500 and upwards works fine.


Quite a few people are obviously miffed/perplexed over this.

I'm guessing its cause the TI series cards are DirectX 8.0 while the 8500 and above is DirectX 8.1.

Nope, Ti series cards are fully DX8.1 compliant.

I wonder why...there really isn't any incentive to do that even if ATI paid for it because they still have a contract with Nvidia and "the way its meant to be played" (or is that gone? who knows 😛 )

What do you want added to NBA Live uniforms? .......Sweat stains? Blood stains? Not quite the same as playing outdoors on a natural field.

Could be a 1.4 shader, geforce 4 only goes to 1.3, whereas all of ati's dx8 cards go to 1.4.

Ti cards don't work well with dirt. Just trust me, this was a wise move.
