I haven't watched the CNBC show, but I do listen to his Real Money radio show on Sunday mornings.

He can't buy or sell for 5 days after discussing

He can't buy or sell for 5 days but you can bet the calls are screened and are often stocks that his fund has a long position in. The fools watching will buy stocks he mentions favorably so you can use Cramer as a contrarian indicator. Buy socks in decline after he trashes them, short stocks he plugs after they've gained 10 to 20 %. Profit.

I'm not saying that Jim is a bad guy directing the market for his own gain, but I'm sure some analysists do or have.

I just find it amusing that you guys think that laws apply to rich people.

I might be mistaken, but I thought the 5 day rule was self-imposed out of fairness to people who pay money for his ActionAlertsPlus service. They receive notice BEFORE he buys or sells anything, so he's hurting himself that way [by telling them what he's going to buy/sell before he does it, not by imposing the 5 day rule]. If they're screening any calls based on stocks, I think they'd be stocks that he plans to buy or sell in the near future so he doesn't prevent himself from doing that.

He already made a crapload of money in the stock market, now he makes his money helping other people do the same. I don't think he's out use his show to manipulate the stock market.

I like his show as I learn a bit about different sectors. i do not buy individual stocks at the time but i plan too faily soon.
