Mad Max fans tossed in the tank

Associated Press

SAN ANTONIO ? Eleven ?Mad Max? fans armed with fake machine guns were arrested after they surrounded a tanker truck while making their way to a movie marathon in a theatrical convoy.

As the group headed to San Antonio on Saturday, police received several calls from drivers who reported a ?militia? surrounding a tanker truck.

Police charged nine people with obstruction of a highway and two others with possession of prohibited knives in addition to the obstruction charge.

One of the organizers, Chris Fenner, said the arrests were unfair. He said he didn't know why anyone would have confused the costumed crew recreating a scene from ?Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior? ? set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland ? with a real threat.

?I honestly don't know how that could be, because 'Road Warrior' was so over the top,? he said.

The movie marathon was canceled after the arrests.

God I wish the cops had of simply shot them all on sight.

BTW I love that movie, but stupid is as stupid does (whatever that means).

The Road Warrior didn't even have machine guns in it, guns and ammunition were extremely rare in that movie. Most of the bad guys used some type of dart/arrow weapons. Not only are these guys morons, their inaccurate morons.

Repost, kinda 😛

But you are forgiven since the last one had a basically non-searchable title 😛

FWIW, I did a search for Mad Max and only one non-related thread came up🙂

Just as likely, possibly more likely, that the media are the morons in this case. Seeing reports on "semi-automatic machine guns" makes me want to slap them for being retarded.

What a bunch of fools.

btw, Mad Max 2 > Mad Max 3 > Mad Max 1 😛

don't you mean MM1 > MM3 ???

Beyond the Thunderdome was pretty crappy...the original has to be appreciated for what it was (low budget with limited special effects)....

We can all agree MM2 was vastly superior to any of the other offerings.

MM1 had the car, but no badass barren wasteland world and characters.
MM3 had the badass wasteland and cool characters...but no car!
MM2 had it all. Even a dog.

MM2 was best, obviously. MM3 was a travesty, especially since the fvcking pilot, who was in MM2, was supposed to be unknown to Max in MM3. PATHETIC MOVIE. MM1 was decent.

MM3 was cool because it was so random 😉

I agree with PingSpike that the lack of post apocalyptic wasteland was what made it less cool than MM3. (I'm not sure if PinkSpike agrees with the ranking, but that's my reasoning)
