I just watched the finla mad max and never really saw the first one. Well anyway, why was there a nucular war. Also is civilization everywhere messed up?

Also whats up with Master Blaster. When he fights him he looks huge and strong, but when he returns later with the kids and see Blaster, he looks all scrawny and small

Thunderdome was Mad Max 3. If I recall correctly in Mad Max 1-2 it was general anarchy / collapse of civilization rather than a nuclear war.

In that kind of situation the cities would be abandoned soon after food deliveries stopped, since cities generally only have a few days supply of food in the grocery stores and warehouses.

Master Blaster was two people, IIRC, the big brawny guy and the tiny guy.

I thought it went like this:
Mad Max: Anarchy, society falling apart
Road Warrior: Post-Apocalypse/Nuclear War
Thunderdome: Post-Post-Apocalypse/Nuclear War

No explanation was given on why the anarchy or apocalypse.

Yep.

Mad Max was a lot of gangs / a few cops trying to keep society from destroying itself... no explination for the nuclear war. I was hoping to get something about it. Road Warrior was by far the best.

Every now and again I hear rumors on the net about a possible 4th installment.

There are all sorts of non-reputable sites out there talking about this. Supposedly the title is "Mad Max 4 - Fury Road". I would only believe the rumors if they came from a well-known site, though.

I don't even pay attention to them anymore.

I have all 3 on DVD 😀.

I think I'll watch Road Warrior tonight. This thread has made me want to watch it now.

That would be awesome if they made a 4th one. However, I'll believe it when I see it.

The fourth film (Fury Road) was going to be shot in Africa. Then with terrorist fears and the Iraq war the production collapsed. But there will always be pressure for another film, so it may happen yet.

An eventual sequel may take some abstract form... such as 'Furry Road' with Fabio as Goose.
