Mad Dog Multimedia Dominator Combo 16x52x24x52 DVD-ROM/CD-RW Drive

Got this "Mad Dog Multimedia Dominator Combo 16x52x24x52 DVD-ROM/CD-RW Drive" from Microcenter and it's $17.99 after rebate. However, it can't seems to read the CD-R that I burned from the Plextor CD-RW from another computer (the CD-R can be read from a Pionner DVD-Rom, another Plextor DVD-RW, a Samsung laptop DVD/CD-RW, and pretty every other drive I tried on)
Have you guys own or heard any anything about Mad Dog CD-Rom Drives? Should I return the drive?

return it. generic brands are always a gamble, and this ones probably a loss.
