Mad Dog Artic Silver 5

I would like to know if the Mad Dog Artic Silver 5 is the same as Artic Silver 5 without the Mad Dog Name. I found this at Compusa. thanks

MadDog is a CompUSA in-house packager. They may just be packaging it for retail sale. AFAIK, AS doesn't package the stuff on bubble cards, etc. for the retail channel. Go to the Arctic Silver site for their info on counterfeits, etc.

I just confirmed with Artic Silver that Mad Dog does indeed get there compound from them and cards it for resale.

But you can probably get it cheaper from places like Jab-Tech or http://www.SVC.com - they used to offer FREE first class mail shipping on their AS products - I haven't checked in a while. Good if you don't need it RIGHT NOW! I just checked and both Jab-Tech and SVC still offer the free shipping on AS5 and Ceramique - SVC also sells CoolerMaster re-packaged Shin Etsu TIM (PTK-001 - $3.99) which works as well as AS5 - it's a bit more difficult to apply than AS5 but should not require reapplication down the road. However they do make you pay for the 1st Class mail for the Shin Etsu.

No doubt you can get it cheaper, but it's nice to know you can get it when needed. It's the Radio Shack thing--they've got it. You can buy it and bring it home, with no waiting. They also know this, and are B&M, so it's a big markup for it.
