Anyone have trouble with refunds from Macy's?

I returned an item and received confirmation that they have received it, and an email saying I will be credited.

I have been trying to get them to credit me with a return since December 5th, when I got the email saying I was being credited.

So far I have not received either a gift card or a credit on my mastercard.

I think I am on the 4th promise of a credit.

I feel certain that on Monday when the 10 days have gone by yet again, I will still not see the credit.

I think if I don't see the credit, I will just give up and chalk it up as a life lesson about doing business with Macy's.
 
Call your credit card company and dispute the initial charge - stating how you've returned the merchandise, received confirmation on said return and that you would get a credit, but you never did.

They'll ask you to fill out a form or something.

You've already tried dealing with the merchant, now you take it up with you credit card company.
 
I've been waiting for a $200 refund for over a year from them for a bed head that never arrived. Fuck Macy's. They were like it was free with purchase so they haven't given me an exact dollar amount to bitch about to my CC company.
 
Sounds like you've slipped through the cracks. Contact the CC company or if you used a check card, contact your bank.

American Express is usually really good at this stuff. They've saved me at least 4-5 times over the years.

It was shipped back using their online return system, which generated the UPS label.

They have already confirmed that they received it a couple days after it was shipped.
 
Okay, it took 3 months, but I finally pried the money back out of Macy's via a chargeback.

Yeah, I vowed never to shop at Macy's again after my last experience. Got a gift card for xmas and purchased some things and then returned some via mail. It took about 5 calls and 1 month to see my credit. It took a call just so they could note my returns as being received when I saw it was delivered by UPS a week earlier.

It may have been due to the Xmas season. But, their customer service was incompetent to say the least.
