how so? I'm looking for some reasons why a Mac would be used over a more-customizable PC

No wonder electronic music sucks.

Umm good sound card and composition programs? I'm not sure of the support in these areas for Macs, that's why I asked.A geforce 4 and a window with some neon lights isn't going to make it sound any better...
Most of the hardware and software is cross-platform. I think Cubase *might* have started as a Mac app, but don't quote me on that. I know that most artists that run it, run it on a Mac.Originally posted by: GoodRevrnd
Do Reason & Gigastudio run cross-platform? That'll stomp i-tunes by a narrow margin. There's more than Fruity loops people, or are we talking about ease-of-use "I can scratch on the beach and arrange my toy scratching sounds on the fly w/ my ibook!".
And how much hifi sound hardware is mac supported? I've never really seen that much.
EDIT: K my bad about the support. That M-Audio Delta stuff is *drool*
EDIT2: Looks like Reason has mac support, gigastudio does not. I'm not really seeing any reason why one system is better than the other except for speed issues, and I think we know who has that one.

I-Tunes is a jukebox program similar to Music Match, Reason is something completely different, it is a software studio. It emulates most of the major gear that electronic musicians use to make music. As so far as Mac support, Logic, a very popular MIDI sequencer(many pro electronic musicians use it) is going to be avaible only on the Apple after this year, they are actualy discontinuing PC support.Originally posted by: GoodRevrnd

Macs are good at media, but they can't run anything else!
It was once true, not as much anymore. At one time, desktop publishing and graphic design was heavily dominated by Apple, all of Adobe's products were developed for Apple long before Windows.is what I hear. This is in relation to professional musicians and people who compose music on computers.... I'm not a militant Anti-Mac person, but I find that to be BS for the most part.
