macrovision problem with margi pcmcia dvd card

My new (to me) laptop has a margi systems dvd2go pcmcia mpeg2 accelerator card. It's kind of like a Hollywood+ for a laptop.

When I try to play a dvd with the included dvd player, I get

"Macrovision copy protection distribution has failed. Playback will be stopped."

help?
