Macross Zero: anywhere know where to get this anime?

I was browsing kazaa looking for some macross videos and I came across the Macross Zero trailer. I LOVE macross.. especially anything like Macross Plus. The problem is.. I don't understand Japanese so I can't buy the region 2 Japanese DVD. I also don't want to pay $$ for a HK sub'd version because I don't know the quality of it. Does anyone know when they are bringing this dvd to the USA? I got my CC ready to preorder 🙂

iirc, everything macross is licensed by bandai, so that means the dvd will hit US shores when bandai gets around to it (which I don't believe has been revealed yet). It also means that if you find it on kazaa, you're prolly downloading a fansub which violates some law or another I think.

yeah, its licensed, so by law, distribution and viewing of fansubs must stop.

i saw the fansub SVCD version of this, and its freaken AWSOME! the animation is top notch and crazy cgi. i highly recommand this to any anime or macross fan.
from what i know, there is only one dvd release in japan, and thats RAW jap only. there is no sub or dub on this dvd, and was just released dec 23 '02. i checked their offical site, but its in all japs, but from what i hear from a jap friend, its going to take them 1 year to finish all 5 ep, ( only ep1 is out) and then another few months for them to dub it with manga.

have fun waiting next year 😀

Ehh I dont really care. When they release a US version I *HAVE* to buy the dvd. I'll get the fansub now just b/c i am impatient. I don't really see a problem with it b/c It's not like they arent going to get $ from me for it anyways.
