The new release offers unique productivity features such as master pages, tight integration with Macromedia® Flash(TM) 5, and the ability to publish to both print and the Web. FreeHand 10 is available for download today for Windows ( http://www.macromedia.com/store/ ), with Mac OS versions, including Mac OS X, expected to ship in May.
``Macromedia FreeHand 10 simplifies the lives of graphics professionals through tight integration with Macromedia Flash 5, new creative drawing tools, and advanced features for print and Web professionals,'' said Keith Hutchinson, product manager, Macromedia. ``This is the perfect tool to transition traditional printers to the Web and offer advanced illustration solutions for Macromedia Flash users. We see our beta customers already decreasing costs because of the multi-publishing capabilities of FreeHand 10.''
Graphic designers and Web developers use FreeHand 10 to create sophisticated illustrations and page layouts ranging from intricate logos to Web site storyboards and large print projects. FreeHand 10 provides unique productivity features like Master Page functionality which brings speed and flexibility to designers who want to use templates to simplify authoring of projects that share common design elements.
New vector-based illustration tools like Contour Gradients will help designers instantly bring flat images to life, while symbol-based brush strokes allow anyone to quickly create patterns, backgrounds, and sophisticated illustration effects. The product also features the customizable Macromedia user interface that is now standard across Macromedia Flash, Dreamweaver®, Dreamweaver® UltraDev®, and Fireworks®.
