what version of flash are those sites in question published to ? I just tried my own site (published as Flash 5) with Firefox using FP8 and it's fine.

Did Macromedia even test it on Firefox before releasing it?

^ working absolutely fine for me in FF... What exactly is the problem you're experiencing ?

I tested 2advanced.com and a few of their project sites...

I didnt mind flash till they figured out how to disable the right-click>play options.

Now theres no easy way to disable flashing monkeys with out using flashout.

Hmm, just tried to install Flash v8 on a fresh windows install and nothing in Firefox v1.0.7. Had to find Flash v7 at some Comcast site.

Guess they still haven't fixed this weeks later?

In case your flash is screwed up, like mine was in FF after upgrading:

Friday night I downloaded the latest version of Flash Player (8) and Shockwave, as prompted to do so by a popup message from Firefox. Since then, flash stopped working completely. Of note, all things flash work in Maxthon and IE.

I tried uninstalling and re-installing flashplayer and shockwave, I deleted cookies and cache multiple times. I was about ready to do a complete reinstall of firefox..which I really did NOT want to do.

I finally found an answer and thought I'd share it to hopefully save some of you time and trouble it took me to figure it out.

Per MozillaPluginDoc: "If you have the Adblock extension installed, you must disable OBJ-TABS, otherwise Flash Player 8.0 will not work.

I clicked onTools/Extensions, then right-clicked on Adblock and opened Options. At the far right corner of the window, there is AdblockOptions. Click on that, then unselect OBJ-TABS.

Now everything is working properly again.
