Macromedia Fireworks question

The log on www.exilera.com has whispy things around the logo; could anyone explain how that's created using Fireworks MX 2004?

looks like a regular graphic overlayed with a grey radial gradiant

2 layers,

bottom layer = colorful pic

top layer = grey pic

transparent fade/gradiant on both ends.

Wallah.

Pretty easy in Photoshop at least.
