Macrium Reflect 6 was just released

Hmm...
Using advanced delta detection technology RDR can rapidly recover data from single, or multiple full backups. Cuts restore times by 90% or more

Rapid Delta Clone (RDC)

Improving further on the cloning capabilities using technology based on RDR to speed up disk cloning activities by 90% or more.
So, they are doing de-dupe techniques now to make clones faster?
This means, it is kinda like what Sandforce SSD controllers do, except this is being done in software.

I also wonder how robust their ECC code is?

$70 for Windows desktop OS backup software is a little ridiculous. That was the price prior to the release, so it isn't new, but it's just too much.

I agree that is a high price but when I get it, it will be an upgrade so it will be a lot less. Plus this new version allows you to upgrade from the standard v.5 and gain the ability to restore to different hardware which is Nice!!

Very interested to see user feedback before trying it. Sounds great in theory, and Macrium hasn't steered me wrong in all the years I've been using it. Saves my hide on a regular basis for backups as well

I have 3 licenses for sale @ 39.99 each. Unused/unactivated for v6 if anyone is interested. Once the sale is done, ownership transfer to the buyer's email can be done

I have the free version of Reflect 5, and love it - it has saved my bacon a bunch of times.

I am thinking maybe I should get the paid version - maybe just to say 'thanks'! (Not sure I really need it - I just take a full backup every 6 months; have not missed file/folder backup or incremental cloning yet).

But is this the best backup/cloning software out there? Anybody used this and found anything else better?

Some version of Reflect I had kept screwing me up, so I switched back to Acronis 2014, which seems OK, except when it isn't. I haven't found any one bulletproof clone program yet, maybe if my Gparted and Clonezilla-fu was better, I could leave these Windows-based utilities behind forever.
