Wow - this is just gorgous - the power switch is especially nifty. I must admit I'm not surprised a Mac/VW owner would create such a sanitary install. How much does a 7" touch screen cost, and is there specific software to give it a comprehensive control set?

http://www.xenarc.com/product/700ts.html

Approx. $250

From what I've read, it just uses the standard USB driver for the touchscreen (in Windows XP, anyway). Not so sure about OSX.

The guy did a nice job with the install.

Why? They're playing mp3s, or some other audio format coming from the MacMini, which is securely mounted in the trunk* it looks like. Probably doesn't experience any more shock than a laptop.

* edit: the glovebox, I'm a tard

Why doesn't it surprise me that a Volkswagen owner uses a Mac? The two almost go hand in hand. Even their advertising seems extremely similar. They're also both the predominant choice in the gay community, and both companies advertised on the Ellen "coming out" episode.

Not that there's anything wrong with that, it just seems like gays and metrosexuals love VW/Apple.

It's not retarded, it's demographics. The marketers for those companies know who their loyal consumer base is.

I use a Mac - had a Powerbook G4 and have an iMac. I drive a Honda. Does that surprise you? I bet someone working for Apple drives a Porsche, another guy drives a Ferarri, another one drives a Mercedes. I guess that doesn't surprise you either. Oh and I bet a child molestor at one time has used a Mac too. I guess that's not a surprise either.

A guy who drives a VW decides to put a Mac into his car and you assume they instantly go hand in hand. :roll:
