I'm looking to add a stereo speakers to my computer. So far i found two options .
Mackie CR5BT CR Series Channel Studio Monitor or AudioEngine A5+ .

Mackie has a huge price advantage . But they are studio monitors, as far as i know they have a very lineer response , and they may not be suitabe to play music, watch movies, play games etc.

On the other hand AudioEngine A5+ is more promoted as computer speakers , so i guess i maybe more happy with these.

But , the price difference is important .
Does anyone has personal experience with these? Would you buy Mackie CR5 for my usage scenario?

I've listened to a pair of the CR4 and they have a very "dry" and flat sound...well to me anyways. They sounded good but just not what I was looking for. Not sure about the AudioEngines but all the reviews say they are great.

No but I always see them on sale at Massdrop. As a matter of fact i think the YU3 are on sale right now. The Kanto's seem to really popular from the reviews I've read.
