For some reason everytime I play a game of Half-Life, whether it be TFC, CS, or single player HL...my machine locks up hard when it cuts back to my desktop. My setup is a Visiontek GF3ti200 and WinXP. Any ideas?

Never have that problem, only thing bad I have happen is if I "Alt-Tab" out ir get pulled out by another program, when I go back to HL I have no sound and have to restart HL.

I`ve only seen this happen on my PC if I use the NV refresh fix for 60hz OpenGL problem,I`ve tried running CS in D3D and it works fine even on exit, without the NV refresh fix it works fine on exit (in OpenGL mode) however if you use the NV refresh fix & run CS in OpenGL mode I`ve had the odd lockup on exit sometimes.

Options are try a different NV refresh fix program, run in D3D (not as good as OpenGL),run without refresh fix in OpenGL mode.

Okay, I'm not running the NV Refresh fix, but I'll try Direct3D anyway.

Thx for the suggestion.

Just a possible suggestion - try going into the console and type "exit" then enter, instead of closing the normal way.

This has worked for me before - I have no idea why though ;)
