Howdy,

How do the illustrious members of this forum keep their MacBook Pro video drivers up-to-date? I have the 2.4GHz with the nVidia GeForce 8600M GT. I was trying to use this computer to replace about three other computers, including my old WinXP desktop for gaming. However I find that the Boot Camp-provided video drivers are very out-of-date. Any advice on how to acquire more up-to-date drivers would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Craig

For non-WHQL:
www.laptopvideo2go.com

WHQL:
Download latest drivers from nvidia's site. Run the exe and let it unpack the files and fail the install routine. Go into device manager and find the video card, right click it and choose update driver. Say that you want to manually choose the driver, then click the have disk option and point it to the files the installer decompressed. Click OK and you'll get a warning about incompatible hardware but it will install the driver anyways.

make sure you get the drivers that are for the macbook pro, and not the generic "laptop drivers" they have on the site.

Can't wait to try this out! Thanks! Will probably go the WHQL route.

bumping up an older post. so is it kosher to use drivers like these for the mbp version of the nvidia 8600? does it make a difference in windows? and the drivers provided by bootcamp aren't the newest drivers?
