Just wondering if anything new has came out in the last few months. I checked a while ago and there really wasnt anything out there besides a program that allows you to hold the control button down and then click to left click.

Not that this is a huge problem and using the 2-click method isnt that bad it would feel like a much better XP experience if i could get this to work. Isnt it weird that i can make it right click in OSX but not windows? isnt that the opposite of how it should be? lol

If you install the Apple supplied BootCamp Drivers you get 2 finger clicking and 2 finger scrolling. The only thing you won't have is tap clicking.

There are 2 schools of thought on this, at least in my head.

School 1: They cannot be bothered to spend more time optimizing the drivers for Windows since they are ultimately obviously more concerned with making things better on OS X, Touch OS and iPod OS.

School 2: They intentionally do not make the drivers better so as to better keep people using OS X on their Macs.

I have some hope that with the release of Windows 7 we will see some solid trackpad drivers since 7 is supposed to have built in support for multi-touch.

Why not run Windows XP in a VM and then full screen? This would solve your battery issues, or at least let you see if it happens in a VM in OS X as well. And you get the trackpad drivers from OS X. Seems like the best of both worlds to me, unless you're having to do something super intensive in XP.

Kmax has a pretty good idea here. You can then put the XP icon in the dock, so the missus can just click on that to launch the VM. XP in a VM doesn't need much space, or memory and will work just great for the majority of the tasks that she will do.

In fact, he can create a new user account for her, enable fast user switching, and then have VMware launch automatically when she logs in.

You get all the advantages of being in XP, plus all the advantages of being in OS X (access to files in OS X, better battery, better trackpad drivers, all that). She can full screen the VM and will basically never have any need for an actual dual boot unless she is running really intensive stuff.
