MacBook Pro Rebooting Unexpectedly?

Over the past few weeks I've noticed when I sit down at my (late 2010) MacBook Pro in the mornings a lot of times it's at the login screen. I think to myself "that's funny I don't recall rebooting".

I am pretty much certain it's rebooting because when I restart Firefox it either tells me another copy is still running (it's not) or when Firefox does open it presents me with the option to restore my previous session.

So is there any way to see logs of when the computer has rebooted or anything?

Check in the Utilities folder, there should be a log application in there. i cannot recall what it is named, but it should be evident by the icon at least.

I found it; it's called Console. There is a lot of stuff in there, but I found a line about reporting errors and then about a 6 minute break in the logs. It would probably help if I knew exactly what I was looking at, but I'm not that smart.

An interesting sidenote, I rebooted to go into Bootcamp and windows had to repair my partition via Recovery. It came back fine, but still struck me as odd.

I've also had very poor drive performance recently. When saving downloads I experience long pauses and freezes before it asks me where I save.
