MacBook Pro Boot Camp: Only runs at 1GHz even at 100%

Uh oh...burn it FTW?

Hi, I'm a PC

If it's new go return it. They should honor a return or at least fix it for you.

Try installing NHC and forcing it to run at full speed. Also, do you have all the intel chipset drivers installed?

LOL. That's what I think whenever I see those commercials.

keeleysam: Have you checked your core temps? Its possible the heatsink isn't making optimal contact w/ cpu, so the cpu is getting down throttled due to heat.

okay, it looks like your multiplier is runing at 6x. I just googled your processor apparently it's supposed to be running at 13x so there's your problem right there.

Edit: now you just need to find out why it's at 6x or change it somehow I know the core 2 duos have features like speed step and such that maybe doing this that you can turn off from bios.

Thats very strange. I installed win xp on an 2.16 ghz MBP only following the BC manual and mine runns on 2.16 ghz... Could it be something with your example?

It ran at 2.16 for the first couple days, but out of the blue just started doing this.

There is no BIOS to go into to turn off Speedstep.

I'm considering returning it back to Amazon for a replacement if I can't get an answer, as I've also had the AirPort disconnection issue.

no, speedstep turns on when it's like on idle not doing anything cpu intense it's kinda like cool and quiet.

I guess it's just throttling I would return it too apple tell them it's overheating. btw that notebook is sick I want one so bad.

It's now throttling in OSX also.

Fvckass Mac.

That's what you get for choosing form over function. 😛 😀

Return for replacement FTW.

It must have really great form.. it's got a Merom! 😛

Idle Now
Load Now

It also now sounds like a 747 taking off, but it's stable, lol.

I can't wait for UPS to come and pick this up so Amazon can send out the new one.

EDIT: Make that Concorde breaking the speed of sound.
