Macbook Firmware Update

I installed the new firmware update for my macbook and my laptop now runs 10-15 degrees cooler. about 51-46 celcius while I type this, as opposed to 64-57 that I used to get. Based on what I have read, the new firmware keeps the fan running all the time, albeit at low speeds.

So far I haven't noticed a degradation in battery life; nothing significant at least. And the other much needed benefit is the bottom of the macbook is significantly cooler now as well.
