Just picked up a new 13" Macbook and I'm looking to get a case for it.
I see several of the sleeve type online which I don't want, I'm looking for something with more padding, pockets, and a shoulder strap.

Can anybody recommend a good one? I'd like to spend around $30-50 if possible.

thanks

I actually use an old Dell bag that I had laying around the house.... nothing like keeping it disguised!

My classmate uses a SwissArmy bag that he got at BestBuy... it seems to meet what you are looking for.

SFbags are a touch more expensive than your stated budget, but they're worth every penny. If you really want to protect your Macbook, I'd go with their sleeve and a carrying strap. They have a bunch of options you can choose from if you go to their sleeve page: http://www.sfbags.com/products/sleevecases/sleevecases.htm. I haven't found similar quality in any of my other bags (and I've tried many varieties).

I like the "Speck SeeThru for 13-inch MacBook".... but it's quite expensive.

Call me paranoid but I wouldn't buy a case/bag specifically designed for a laptop. It lets thieves know that you have something valuable to steal.

I picked up a Jansport backpack that looks like a standard backpack but has a padded sleeve inside for a laptop that fits my 15 Powerbook perfectly.

I'd get a sleeve AND a bag. I use an incase sleeve along with a messenger bag or laptop backpack, depending on the day.

eBags is a good place to find a backpack. Do yourself a favor and spend some extra $ for extra padding.
