I have an old MacBook a1181 in white and its got tons of scratches on the top. These are the plastic looking case. Anyone ever took a dual action polisher with some car polish and buff it to a shine ? just curious if I should even try.

It's not just plastic looking, but it is actually plastic.

To answer your question, no I've never used any kind of polish on any material laptop.

You could try, if you're especially skilled at working with your hands. But if you want a new-looking laptop, you should probably buy a new laptop.

Apple uses polycarbonate for their plastic products. Same stuff that's used for eyeglass lenses, optical discs, and bullet proof glass. Yep, it can be polished. You'll need to disassemble the computer though, as there will be sanding involved.

I only have meguiars 105/205.. wonder if its too rough. I'm only doing the back of the screen, basically top cover. I'll tape off all the sides and just put a few drops of polish and let the machine do all the work.
