I've got a friend with an apple G4 powermac that wants wireless internet.

First, I don't know what wireless products are available for macs. I've heard terms like "Airport card" or "airport station" which I'm guessing is just their brand name for wireless card and router.

She's got a regular linksys router attached to DSL. Is there any reason why I shouldn't be able to buy her an "airport" card in order to get wireless internet from her linksys box?

Any suggestions on where to go to purchase apple products?

Thanks in advance!

Depending on the vintage of the airport card it will work fine with 802.11b and the extreme works with "G" networks. The base station can be from any manufacturer, but the card for internal use has to be an Airport (check if your laptop has an airport slot, older laptops don't) Otherwise go with a USB wifi adapter or a mac compatible PC card.
