New mac user here and I was wondering if someone can provide me with a good link to a guide for upgradeing the ram and hard drive for the intel mac mini and the imac.

ive actually found that 2 thin wide metal putty knives work great. I can get my mini open in about 10 seconds now, first time it took a minute or so.

I ended up using something similar...took a few minutes ( I was afraid that I would break it, but I eventually got it😀

I've used putty knives too, but the Pizza Cutter is absolutely perfect. Just spin it along the side and stick in the thick plastic card, then do the same on the other side to pop it off. Takes under 30 seconds 😀

good luck w/ the HDD upgrade for the imac... here As much as I've taken computers apart before.. this scares me, heh

Wow, that looks absolutely ridiculous. The Pre-iSight G5 iMacs only required 3 screws to be loosened at the bottom, and the whole back panel would lift off, giving you access to everything.
