Mac Shutdown In Sleep Mode

For some reason when the mac goes into sleep mode it will turn completely off after a little bit. This never used to happen, and the pc used to be able to be awoken with a simple mouse jiggle.

I checked the energy settings tab and found nothing out of the ordinary. Any ideas?

What kind of Mac is it? You can try the usual route of zapping the PRAM etc.

Also, what kind of Mac is it? MacBook, iMac, Mac Pro, Power Mac, PowerBook, MacMini, Hackintosh?

Have you opened it up recently?
What have you installed recently?

nothing installed recently, its a brand new mac desktop bought in august. Its owned by a friends so I will check the logs tomorrow.
