explain yourself. until i start to hear good quality, formidable arguments for non-Apple computers that arent simply "apple sucks, non-Apples are better", I will continue to search for a powerbook. What do non-Apple computers offer that Apples dont offer?

2. Wider variety of peripheral vendors. This means I can get stuff for the computer easier from a greater number of places for less money.
3. No hassle being able to play games. This would also overlap with #2 and include things like driver support for high performance video hardware, etc.
Macs are fine if all you want to do is email, surf the web, use office apps, occasional professional applications like graphics and you have no concern about cost - either initial purchase or ongoing - AND you are willing to put up with the hassles of having to dig in order to find what you need. In the past Macs were the only real choice for graphics development, now this is no longer true.

Cost is really my bottom line. That's the reason I'm running AMD not Intel right now and I hope there is never a day when I HAVE to choose Intel again either. I hope I never see another day when I pay $800 for a processor.
