I had a firewire drive which was bootable in OS 9 as a startup disk.

The disk got screwed up and I need to format it......what files do I need on there to make it a bootable startup disk again?

Thanks

you're going to need to install an OS on it if you want it to be bootable. I don't know exactly what you mean by "what files do I need for it to be bootable" Are you looknig for the fewest number of files you can have on it and still have it boot? There's no equivelent to loading command.com on it and having it boot to dos, if that's what you're looknig for.

I see, I did not set it up initially, but I thought you could just copy over system folders and some more files .....guess I misunderstood

If you copy over the system folder it might work. I'm honestly not sure. I know that the machine will run with jsut the system folder on there, but I don't know if it will find it at boot up time or not if you jsut copy it on there.
